The State House Anti-Corruption Unit, in collaboration with the CID and the office of the DPP, on October 27, 2025, arraigned Sekikubo Mubarak, Chairperson of LC III, Nakisunga Sub-County, Mukono District, before the Mukono Chief Magistrate’s Court. He faces charges of obtaining money by false pretense and conspiracy to defraud.
According to the charges, between January and June 2025, Mubarak allegedly conspired with Mugerwa Ronald Saaku, a Probation and Welfare Officer at Lugazi Municipality, who is also facing similar charges, and Dr. Wataba Saadi, who remains at large. The trio allegedly defrauded Dr. Mukisa George William, a job applicant, of UGX 38 million by falsely promising to secure him a government position as a Medical Officer in Mukono District.
Mubarak claimed the money was intended to facilitate members of the Mukono District Service Commission in helping Dr. Mukisa secure the Medical Officer position he had applied for, which was not the case. He has been remanded until November 4, 2025.
