Rubirizi,Uganda – Three senior local government officials in Rubirizi District have been suspended for six months over alleged negligence of duty and involvement in corruption.
Those interdicted are Mr. Julius Mwebaze, Senior Human Resource Officer; Mr. J.B. Ahimbisibwe, Headteacher of Buhinda Primary School; and Dr. Anatori, the in-charge of Munyonyi Health Centre III.
Meanwhile, Mr. Richard Munori, Secretary of the District Service Commission, remains on suspension until further notice following a court case related to alleged neglect of duty.

The suspensions follow charges brought against the officials in court.
According to an official letter issued by the Chief Administrative Officer, the case — filed as Criminal Case Number CO-0150/26 — relates to alleged failure to perform duties in line with Section 101 of the Penal Code Act.
The interdiction takes immediate effect and is intended to allow court proceedings and investigations to continue without interference. Authorities say the action is in accordance with the Public Service Standing Orders of 2021.
During the interdiction period, Mr. Mwebaze and the other officials have been instructed not to access office premises unless officially authorized, and they are barred from leaving the country without permission. They will receive half of their salaries while on suspension.
They have also been directed to hand over office responsibilities immediately.
Rubirizi District Local Government Communications Officer Amon Muhereza confirmed the interdictions, noting that they are administrative measures and do not imply guilt, as the matter is still before court. The move is meant to allow investigations and court proceedings to continue without interference.
He added that under the court order, Mr. Julius Mwebaze is restricted from leaving the country without permission and is entitled to receive half of his monthly salary.
