Rubanda, Uganda – Police in Rubanda have arrested Ahumuza Dismus, 26, a resident of Rwembungu cell, Bubare town council, Rubanda district.
He is accused of having carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old girl, a pupil at Nyamiyaga primary school.
The incident occurred on February 17, 2025, in the evening at Rwembugu Cell, Nyamiyaga Ward, Bubare Town Council.
According to reports, Twinamasiko Enid left her 11-year-old daughter and four siblings at home to prepare supper. When she returned around 8:30 pm, she found the children crying and was told that a man had attacked them and defiled the victim.
The mother reported the case to the police, who opened a case file and began investigating. The suspect was arrested to aid in the investigation. Key witnesses have been identified, and their statements recorded.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident, stating that inquiries are ongoing to prosecute the suspect.
