Ntungamo,Uganda – The Resident Judge of Kasese High Court, His Lordship Lawrence Tweyanze Karikwitsya, has urged married couples to nurture their unions through prayer, patience, love, and mutual respect.
Justice Tweyanze made the call on Saturday 9th May 2026 while officiating at a thanksgiving Mass marking 50 years of marriage for Salongo Ambrose and Nalongo Restituta Kagaba, held at their ancestral home in Mujwa, Butare, Ntungamo Sub-county, Ntungamo District.
He asked the couple to cherish their milestone as “a testament to endurance, faith, and mutual commitment” in old age, and encouraged other couples to view marriage as a lifelong journey built on spiritual values. The judge also praised Ambrose Kagaba as a “destiny changer” who has impacted many lives in the community.

In their remarks, Ambrose and Restituta Kagaba thanked God for His faithfulness, companionship, and grace through five decades of life’s joys and challenges. They expressed gratitude to their children — led by Felix, Ferdinand, Innocent, and Coleta — for organizing the Golden Jubilee Mass and honoring them with gifts while still alive.
Main celebrant Rev. Fr. Alphonse Mukundane, Parish Priest of Lugazi Catholic Parish, reminded all couples to remain faithful to God, saying He would in turn remain faithful to them. He commended the Kagabas for their service to the Lord and to the community.
Speaking on behalf of the siblings, the children praised their parents for raising, nurturing, and educating them, and pledged to remain united and care for them in their golden years.
