KABALE, UGANDA – The territorial police in Kabale are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Patricia, a resident of Nyabushabi cell, Kyanamira sub-county, Kabale district. Her body was discovered abandoned in the compound of Nyakijumba Catholic Church on November 30, 2025, at around 9:00 am.
According to police, a sniffer dog led them to the home of a suspect, a lover of the deceased, who is currently at large. The police found marks of pulling on the ground from the house, indicating that the victim may have died there. A search of the house revealed pieces of suspected mattress and blanket soaked with fluids, which have been exhibited for forensic analysis.
The body is believed to have spent around three days in the house before being pulled and abandoned at the church compound. The body was retrieved and taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem. The suspect is on the run, and efforts are ongoing to arrest him and assist in investigations.
ASP Maate Elly, Kigezi Police Spokesperson, stated that inquiries are still ongoing.
