MITOOMA, UGANDA – Ruhinda Constituency Member of Parliament candidate Arinda Edgar Rwambika has officially flagged off his coordinators to campaign for NRM Presidential Flagbearer President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Rwambika, currently serving as the Mayor of Kashenshero Town Council in Mitooma District, is vying for the parliamentary seat on an independent ticket.
He flagged off his team coordinators on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Peak Hotel, ahead of the presidential visit to Mitooma District on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Rwambika, a self-described NRM die-hard and member of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) headed by General Muhoozi Keinerugaba, said the PLU targets over 80% support for President Museveni, but he aims for over 95% support in Mitooma district.
He tasked his coordinators to mobilize support for President Museveni and General Muhoozi Keinerugaba, who is seen as Uganda’s future leader. “Tell them to come in big numbers to receive our president and listen to his developmental words as he visits Mitooma this Wednesday,” Rwambika said.

Rwambika is challenging incumbent General Kahinda Otafiire, the NRM flagbearer, Atumanyaruhanga Benson, Tugume Asaph, and others in the parliamentary race, with elections set for January 2026.
