RUBIRIZI, UGANDA – Mr. Dagaras Rwamutojo, the Assistant RDC of Rubirizi, has emphasized the importance of contraception in promoting health interaction, birth control, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods during a men-only dialogue meeting organized by ACODEV Uganda and Rubirizi District Local Government.
“Contraception methods promote healthy interaction, birth control, and economic empowerment,” Rwamutojo said, highlighting the need for education in promoting contraception awareness. Men, being often the decision-makers, must be involved in contraception discussions to promote social cohesion and healthy interaction.
ACODEV Uganda’s Project Coordinator, Mr. Ategeka Chris, noted that contraception enables men and women to make informed reproductive health decisions, leading to stronger families and healthier communities. Hon. Agaba Obed Byakureka, the NRM flagbearer for LC5 Rubirizi District, emphasized the role of men in promoting contraception.

Rukizakale James, Headteacher of St. Michael High School, praised the initiative, saying, “Contraception methods have a big impact on family well-being and population growth.” He encouraged men to escort their wives for antenatal checkups and take responsibility for their families’ health.
