KABALE, UGANDA – Kabale District Police are searching for suspects involved in the murder of Natamba Stephen, a 40-year-old local guard at Albertine Hotel, and the attempted murder of Kanyoro Loyce, a 59-year-old businesswoman.
The incident occurred on October 1, 2025, at around 3:30 am, at Makanga Cell, Kabale Municipality. According to police, three armed men attacked Kanyoro Loyce’s home, killing the guard and critically injuring her with pangas. They also stole a mobile phone, a 49-inch Samsung TV, and other household items.
Kanyoro Loyce’s son, Kanyoro Rodgers, discovered the scene and rushed his mother to Rugarama Hospital, where she is receiving treatment. The guard was pronounced dead at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital.
Police Appeal:
The Kigezi region police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, appealed to anyone with information to come forward and help bring the suspects to justice.
The investigation is ongoing, and the body of the deceased has been taken to the mortuary for postmortem examination. HV
