Katerera,Uganda – Hon. Boaz Atwizukyire has announced a raft of economic and social interventions for Katerera Constituency, including a village-based savings program and millions in support for local Saccos and farmers.
Speaking at a press conference at Sirbacco Country Resort Beach in Katerera, Hon. Boaz said he would roll out the _Boaz Savings Box_ initiative in all villages, providing each with at least 1 million shillings as startup capital to help women start small business projects.
He also pledged 50 million shillings to the Katerera Bodaboda Sacco and 40 million shillings to the Katerera Local Leaders Sacco to boost member savings and household incomes. Farmers will receive support through the distribution of coffee seedlings. Hon. Boaz warned that anyone found misusing the funds would be arrested.

A large part of his focus, he said, will go toward installing street lighting in Katerera’s town zones, introducing a mobile scan service, and providing an ambulance for the area. He also committed to fighting school dropouts, tackling substance abuse, and strengthening youth sports activities.
“Promoting education will be a key priority in my term,” Hon. Boaz said, citing the need to address school dropouts and skills gaps among young people through training programs, education support, and rural infrastructure development.
He pledged to empower women and youth toward self-reliance, fight poverty, and ensure government projects are followed up to deliver real benefits. Specific plans include improving maternal health services by providing ultrasound scans at Katerera Health Centre III and supporting women-led income generating projects to help lift households out of poverty.
