Bushenyi,Uganda – The Headteacher of Basajjabalaba Secondary School, Ms. Zamula Nakalanzi, has implored students to internalize the timeless truth that education remains the most potent key to success and to elevate it as their foremost priority if they aspire to become positively influential figures in the future.
Ms. Nakalanzi was speaking to our reporter on Monday, 14th September 2026, as students reported for the third term of the 2026 academic year.
Her remarks come at a critical moment when Senior Four and Senior Six candidates are bracing for the decisive Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) final examinations, scheduled to commence on 8th October and 6th November respectively.

She emphasized that in an era defined by knowledge-driven economies and intellectual competitiveness, academic discipline, moral uprightness and unwavering focus are non-negotiable prerequisites for those who seek to shape society rather than merely exist within it.
“Success is not accidental. It is cultivated through deliberate commitment to learning, character formation and resilience. If you want to influence your community and the world positively, education must be your first investment,” Ms. Nakalanzi said.
Located in Ishaka Town, opposite the Kampala International University (KIU) Teaching Hospital along the Ishaka–Mbarara Road, Basajjabalaba Secondary School is an Islamic-founded institution that offers both Arts and Sciences.
Over the years, the school has distinguished itself as one of the best-performing institutions in the region, celebrated not only for academic excellence but also for nurturing disciplined, visionary and ethically grounded learners equipped to thrive in an increasingly complex world.
