BUSHENYI – Christians of Rweibare Full Gospel Church in Bushenyi district on Sunday 22nd December 2024 exchanged words with their Bishop for mixing family issues with church.
Christians accuse Bishop Mugume Abel Overseer Full Gospel Churches Bushenyi for trying to stop their church Leader Pastor Mauda Rwanshomoki from operating on allegations of having a family conflict with her sister Kirabo.
It all started in the morning when christians came for usual Sunday service and found Bishop Mugume with his team at the church with a letter from the Archibishop stopping Pastor Mauda from holding the Sunday service until further notice.
Angered Christians nearly assaulted the Bishop who had come with Police officers, for disrupting the work of the lord yet family issues should be sorted either by family or court.
Pastor Mauda Rwanshomoki who was bitter at that moment exchanged bad words with the Bishop and lost mood until when christians escorted her out of the church but the service could not start since all Christians walked out of the church demanding for the return of their leader.
Bishop Mugume Abel tried to convince Christians to sit and they pray with them but they refused asking him to close their church and go away since they can also pray from outside and wait for their pastor.
The Bishop and his team with Police Officers were left with no option but leaving the church Premises and Christians later entered the church, waited for their Pastor until when she came back and the service commenced.
We could not deeply go into the family land affair since its totally not related to church but the little we got from some locals indicate that Pastor Mauda and her sister Kirabo are fighting over a yet to be known plot of land found in Kakanju Parish, Kakanju Sub County in Bushenyi district.
