MITOOMA – Mitooma district Woman Member Of Parliament Hon Agasha Juliet Bashiisha has on Sunday 22nd December 2024 organised a Christmas Carols day at her home in Furuma, Mutara in Mitooma district.
A Christmas carol is a carol on the theme of Christmas, traditionally sung at Christmas itself or during the surrounding Christmas and holiday season. Christmas carols may be regarded as a subset of the broader category of Christmas music
The day activities were opened by an order of mass led by Father Leonard Mugaiga, Parish Priest Mutara Catholic Church who advised parents to teach their children about having mutual love for each other for a sustainable future.

Using Bashiisha’s family as an example, Mugaiga said if children love each other, they eventually maintain the reputation of the family even in presence of their parents.
After the Order of the mass, the Anglican Church also took the floor with Christmas welcoming songs and their preaching that was led by Tayeebwa Aggrey Mwiine Mugisha also touched many peoples’ hearts.
The day was also characterised by religious dramas and Christmas Carols/songs from both Furuma Catholic and Furuma Anglican Church which made the day so colourful as many people enjoyed the long-missed songs/carols.
In her Christmas message to the people, Hon Agasha Juliet Bashiisha asked them to be disciplined and ask God to forgive all their sins so that they can welcome the day with cleansed hearts.
She reminded parents about the ongoing school holidays arguing them to keep a close eye on their children so that they don’t get exposed to evil acts and other immoral acts that may spoil their future during this festive season, adding “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2025 to everyone”.
End.
