Bushenyi, Uganda – On Saturday, July 5th, 2025, hundreds of residents from across Bushenyi District, particularly Kakanju, benefited from a free medical camp organized by Igara West Member of Parliament (MP) Turyamureeba Paul Kahiigi at Nombe Health Centre II in Katunga, Kakanju Sub-County, Bushenyi District.
This follows a similar camp just days prior at Nyabubaare Health Center III, showcasing Kahiigi’s ongoing dedication to improving healthcare access in his constituency.
The camp, staffed by a team of doctors from the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), commonly known as Mk, provided free testing and treatment for a wide range of conditions including hepatitis, diabetes, typhoid, malaria, hypertension, dental issues, stroke, and eye problems. Dr. Gilbert Tuhamire coordinated the PLU medical team.

With the NRM primary elections scheduled for July 17th, 2025, and Kahiigi facing stiff competition from Amanya Cohen Kyampene, Tugume Bonifance, Mackline Kahimbi, and others, this display of community service underscores his commitment to his constituents.
Kahiigi expressed his gratitude to the PLU leadership, including General Muhoozi Keinerugaba, Secretary General Mr. Kabanda, and Director for Mobilization Hon. Michael Mawanda, for their support. He reiterated his pledge to prioritize healthcare and ensure quality service delivery in Igara West. He also urged residents to support President Museveni’s development plans, particularly poverty-fighting initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM), encouraging them to utilize these funds for income-generating projects.
Beneficiaries such as Ainemukama Bernard from Kiyagara and Kembabazi Beatrice from Katunga voiced their appreciation for the free medical care, emphasizing the significant financial burden healthcare places on many Ugandans. They pledged their support for Mr. Turyamureeba Paul Kahiigi in upcoming elections.

End.
