RUKUNGIRI, UGANDA – The Rukungiri territorial police have apprehended two suspects, Muhwezi Narasensio and Tindyebwa Hillary, in connection with the murder of Evaristo Nuwabine. According to ASP Elly Maate, Kigezi Police Spokesperson, the suspects were arrested to assist with investigations into the alleged murder.
The incident occurred on October 1, 2025, when Nuwabine was last seen drinking with the suspects and others at a local bar in Kibarama village. After leaving the bar around 11 pm, Nuwabine’s lifeless body was discovered the next morning in a water trench along the Rukungiri-Kihihi highway with multiple head injuries.
The police were informed, and the scene was processed and documented. The body was conveyed to Rwakabengo HC III mortuary for postmortem examination. The suspects are currently being held to facilitate further investigations.
The police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation. The case is ongoing, and the police are working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
