RUBIRIZI, UGANDA – The Stitching Future Tailoring Group in Kicwamba subcounty, Rubirizi district, recently held a colorful graduation ceremony for 32 women who completed a tailoring and design course. The event was presided over by Hon. Kyabu Beyeza, representing Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo, the NRM flag bearer for Bunyaruguru Constituency.
During the ceremony, Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo emphasized the importance of human capital development in achieving economic transformation. He encouraged the graduates to manage their time effectively, avoid laziness, and remain committed to their work. He also warned them against evil practices such as drug abuse, alcoholism, and sexual immorality, which can hinder their progress.
To support the initiative, Hon. Cadet Benjamin Buturo donated two tailoring machines and UGX 300,000 to the association. He urged the women to use their skills to transform their communities and improve their livelihoods.

Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Tusiime, Chairperson of the Board of Governors for House of Love Africa, also addressed the graduates. He explained that the organization was established to support vulnerable children and youth in Rubirizi, particularly in the fight against early teenage pregnancies, school dropouts, and unemployment.
The institution has already started industrial production to empower young girls and women who never had a chance to attend school, enabling them to acquire hands-on skills and become self-reliant.
Madam Nakawara Cicilia, the leader of Stitching Future Tailoring Group, expressed gratitude to Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Tusiime for his initiative and thanked Hon. Buturo for his donation. She encouraged the graduates to put their skills into practice by producing uniforms, gowns, suits, and other garments needed by the community and institutions.
“Remain united, work hard, and trust in God, and you will overcome life’s challenges,” she advised.
