MITOOMA – A 38 old woman has been found dead, body dumped in a swamp in Nyakaziba village, Igambiro Parish, Katenga Sub County in Mitooma district.
The deceased is Naturinda Mones a resident of Nyakaziba village who disappeared from home on 15th April 2024 at around 2pm and the family members thought she had gone for prayers in Bushenyi thus not reporting her disappearance.
Its on Sunday 21st April 2024 when her decomposing body was discovered by residents who had gone to cut grass along Nyamirembe river and they reported to police for a proper action.
Police responded immediately and investigations commenced vide Mitooma CRB : 241/2024, Crime scene visited, examined and fully documented. Postmortem was also done at the scene by Dr Oloya Patrick of Mitooma HC4.
It was established that the deceased’s body which was found decomposing in a swamp had two deep cut wounds around the left eye and a punctured wound on the lower part of the right thigh.
According to Geater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Martial Tumusiime, the police is actively hunting for the suspect(s) involved in this suspected murder and by press time, postmortem was yet to be retrieved.
