OPINION -Its a common business in Uganda especially in Urban areas to meet hawkers moving around selling even un licensed and unauthorised products especially with cosmetics, drugs and drinks to Ugandans.
It does not end at Ugandans sustaining health problems after taking the products but some waste their money as these people/conmen promise them gifts in a bid to get market for their unstandard products.
When iam writing this, many people can use an experience of travelling by bus where they meet different hawkers with different products every now and then. These hawkers come convincing passengers to buy the products even without proving its positive results but just use sweet words about it so that they can earn a living.

Many Ugandans have fallen victims but leaders and the concerned authorities have kept a deaf ear about this matter. Some travellers always eat contaminated food as they always have no solutions and they have no any protection against it.
Lets leave this matter aside because its like most Ugandans are always looking for survival and they decide to get it from the toiling of their fellows. This might be at some extent because they are good thieves, creative or are ill minded about the final results of the trend.
When it comes to mobile/sim transactions, fraud is very wide and many Ugandans who use phones as a way of transacting and saving money have fallen victims loosing millions to unknown daily cacoons of people who use ICT (Cyberknowledge) to get the money from Ugandan’s mobile accounts. Even those cyber criminals even steal money from bank accounts using the ICT knowledge.
Lets now see these people who walk with bags pretending to be selling products like jelly, toothpaste and promise gifts to every potential buyer. These ones are now the most trending problem especially in Ankole Sub – Region where our reporter has been following them town to town starting with Bushenyi district.
Look at this one (GREEN HERB INVESTMENTS LTD, Kampala), they sell the toothpaste at shs 30,000= and promise to give back gifts like pacorators, Tvs, Radios, Bicycles, Flat Irons and the youth who do this business are very tricky. We have found women crying after giving out shs 30,000 in cash expecting gifts and end up in fights with these hawkers because they look to be not on business but like doing “Wakareeba or kolokolo”, simply translated as “have you seen it”??

Today a boy was nearly beaten by traders in Ishaka division when he took shs 30,000 from a lady and failed to unvail any gift to her but was later given back his products and bag after refunding the money. The surrounding community told this website that these hawkers have always come and conned people eapecially women who end up losing their business capital to these conmen/women.

As Ugandans, Let everyone be very vigilant because the conmen/women are everywhere in the country. The government should also comeup with a solution to protect a poor Ugandan who is suffering in his own land.
END.
