BUSHENYI – Police in Bushenyi are hunting for suspects who poured chemicals suspected to be acid on a 35 year old woman in Nyankabirizi town, Nyakabirizi division in Bushenyi -Ishaka Municipality leaving her in a critical condition.
Its alleged that the yet to be identified suspects found Grace Atukunda inside her bar at around 9pm in the night of 28th September 2024 and poured chemicals suspected to be acid on her body causing severe burns on her face, chest and also left her clothes torn.
The victim made an alarm that attracted neighbours who rushed her to the nearby clinic for first aid and later she was admitted at KIU Teaching Hospital Ishaka in Intensive Care Unit for treatment.
A case of attempted murder was reported to police by Kuhimbisa Freedom a veterinary doctor and registered vide Bushenyi CRB 840/2024 before officers visited the scene for proper investigations plus offering the pf3 to the victim for medical examination.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that inquiries to know the motive of the suspects and have them arrested are still at hand.
