Bushenyi,Uganda – Bushenyi District’s new LC5 Chairperson Twebaze Prosper, 34, has signaled a fast start to his 2026–2031 term by naming a lean executive team and pledging a corruption-free, accommodative administration under his _“BUSHENYI EYATWEENA”_ philosophy.

After securing the NRM ticket with 87% in the primaries and running unopposed in the general elections, Twebaze used the first council sitting to constitute his executive committee, drawing on leaders from across the district’s sub-counties.
Edward Mpabwa of Kyamuhunga was appointed Vice Chairperson. Saudah Namukasa of Ishaka takes charge of Works, Production and Technical Services, a portfolio central to roads and infrastructure delivery. Tumwijukye Didas Ihoza of Ibaare was named Secretary for Finance, while Sylivia Kyomuhendo of Bitooma will lead Social Services.

The council also elected Siragi Banyanga of Ishaka as Speaker, with male youth councilor Hon. Arinaitwe Martin as Deputy Speaker, completing the leadership structure for the term.
Speaking after the sitting, Twebaze said his priority is to build a district government that brings all political divides together and delivers services without favoritism. He said the composition of the executive reflects competence and regional balance, aimed at speeding up implementation of district programs.

The youthful chairperson rose to prominence as Programs Director at BFM Radio Bushenyi, where he hosted _“Ekiteramo,”_ one of Western Uganda’s most followed public affairs programs. He has said he will apply the same openness to public dialogue in running the district.
Analysts note that Twebaze’s landslide victory and unopposed general election give him a strong mandate to push through reforms and development projects in the model district.
