MITOOMA – A Three year Old juvenile has drowned and died in a water stream in Nyakitoko Village, Mahwizi, Mutara Sub County in Mitooma district.
The deceased is Nuwariho Gilbert 03 years a son to Annitah Nuwasasira , resident of Nyakabale Village , Mahwizi Parish, Mutara Sub County in Mitooma district.
Its alleged that Nuwasasira Annitah (mother to the deceased) had got a job in Kampala on 17th December 2024 and left the deceased at Natukunda’s home where he associated with other children normally.
On Sunday 22nd December 2024, Natukunda left the deceased at home with others but at around 4pm when Natukunda returned, the deceased was no where to be seen, then she reported the matter to area Local Council One for his search. Its until today on 23rd December 2024 when the body of the deceased was found on the bank of River Katizi (water stream).
The incident was reported to police by Natukunda Grace 40 years and inquiries were instituted vide Mitooma DEF 004/2024, scene visited and documented and the body was retrieved and taken to Kitagata General Hospital where postmortem is already done.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that inquiries into the matter are still at hand.
