OPINION – Today as we gather to celebrate the 39th anniversary of the NRM/A liberation, let us take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey our nation has traversed.
This day is a testament to the sacrifices made by our forebearers who fought valiantly for our freedom and opportunities. It is a time to honor their legacy and recommit ourselves to the ideals of service, accountability, and progress.
However, while we celebrate these achievements, we must also confront the pressing challenges that persist within our communities. For example service delivery gaps in health, education, infrastructure, and security remain critical issues that urgently need attention.

It is clear that the path to sustainable development and prosperity in our municipality—and across Uganda—demands capable leadership that prioritizes the needs of the people.
Now, more than ever, we are called to engage actively in the democratic process.
Let us wield our power as voters wisely by electing leaders who not only understand our struggles but also possess the vision and capacity to hold the government accountable. These leaders will serve as our voice, ensuring the government fulfills its promises and addresses the needs of every Ugandan.
As we commemorate this significant day, let us reaffirm our commitment to electing representatives who are dedicated to bridging the gaps that hinder our progress.
Let’s now pave the way for a brighter future—one where every citizen has access to quality services, equal opportunities, and a voice that is heard.
Happy Liberation Day.
