MITOOMA – The Aspiring Member Of Parliament Ruhinda County Mr Mbaine Nekemia Zelebabel has organised medical camps throught the whole constituency.
The medical camps are targeting all people from various parts and services have been centered at Katenga Sub County Headquarters, Mitooma Sub County Headquarters and Kanshenshero Sub County Headquarters.
Medical camps provide access to basic and specialized medical services, raise awareness about health issues, and can help prevent the spread of disease. Medical camps are a valuable tool in addressing health inequalities and improving the overall health of our society.
The importance of medical camps is highlighted by the health services they provide to the low-income segment of society without imposing financial costs on them; therefore, they are considered… Community service It contributes to alleviating the suffering of patients who belong to the poorest groups in society, as they find it difficult to receive treatment due to their difficult living conditions. Medical camps also work to improve the health situation, especially for remote communities that lack health facilities.
Organizing medical camps has a profound positive impact on society, and re-establishes the centrality of goodness and charity in our lives, in a world dominated by materialism and where human values are diminishing to the point of extinction.
Medical camps are an opportunity to get a good understanding of the health status of the community, especially in remote and underserved communities, to identify the most common disease patterns there, and to track any health data that is useful in the long-term health planning process.
When talking about medical camps, one might think that they involve providing poor services, but this is not true. Medical camps require providing services of a high level of quality.
Medical camps promote health equity by achieving equality among members of society in obtaining equal access to health services, and reducing social and economic disparities between different segments of society.
The services provided by the medical camps include primary care services and basic medical services, such as: diagnostic tests, medical examinations, vaccinations, distribution of free medicines, and providing treatment for common diseases. They also include providing services that vary according to the clinics, such as: the internal medicine clinic, andDental clinic, gynecology and obstetrics clinic, eye clinic, mental health clinic, etc. Some medical camps also offer surgical interventions and minor medical procedures that can be performed on the ground.
Medical camp services may also include other services, such as: providing prosthetic devices for people with disabilities, or providing visual and auditory aids for those with vision and hearing problems, etc.
The mission of medical camps is not limited to providing healthcare only, but extends to spreading health awareness that is capable of establishing a culture of disease prevention, and how to take the right measures to avoid contracting diseases, including providing awareness about adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The smooth flow of medical information from the medical team to the visitors of the medical camps is an advantage provided by these camps. To achieve this, direct verbal communication is not sufficient, but it is more useful to prepare awareness leaflets in advance to distribute them to the camp visitors.
Medical camps provide a lively, informal healing environment with effective direct communication between patients and medical staff. Such an environment undoubtedly provides patients with an ideal healing experience and creates a state of responsiveness between patient and doctor, which contributes to achieving better treatment outcomes.
End.
