Rubirizi, Uganda – Rubirizi District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Kesande Grace Bataringaya, has warned boda-boda riders and taxi drivers to improve their driving habits to reduce road accidents.
Speaking to residents of Nyakihanda and Busonga in Magambo Sub-county earlier this week, Hon. Bataringaya urged drivers and riders to avoid speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, and to always wear protective gear, such as helmets.
Her remarks came during a community work project (“Burungi Bwensi”) where they rehabilitated a feeder road from Late Muzei Ngobya Trading Center to Nyakihanda and Busonga.

Hon. Bataringaya, who is seeking re-election, personally contributed murram to temporarily improve the road while awaiting government intervention, which is already planned.
Residents, including Magambo Sub-county LC3 Chairman Joel Kakama, Kyomunda Celemensia, and area councilor Madam Molly, expressed gratitude for Hon. Bataringaya’s leadership and community involvement.
They highlighted the poor condition of their roads, which hamper their agricultural businesses due to transportation difficulties, and appealed for urgent action.
