KIGEZI – The territorial police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 55 years old Kasheija Emmanuel a resident of Kanungu Cell/ Town Ward/ Town Council District, which is alleged to have occurred on 10/01/2025 at unknown night time.
It’s alleged that the deceased has been staying alone in his house but a known drunkard and was epileptic. He was last seen on the 10th/01/2025 during day time while drunk at a nearby bar by his biological daughter Akankwasa phiona who also operates a bar in his father’s house.
That when she went back in the morning as usual, she found the father laying against the bed dead and the door open. She notified Kyokusiima Alice (Aunt) who also reported the matter to Police.
The scene of crime was visited, Postmortem was done at the scene and the body handed over to the relatives for a descent burial.
Blood stained clothes suspected to be of the deceased were recovered from the nearby bush and one suspect was arrested to aid in investigations.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Asp Elly Maate confirms the incident stressing that Inquiries at hand.
