Bushenyi, Uganda – In a last-minute update, the NRM Primary Elections for Councilor Local Council III (LCIII) have been rescheduled to Thursday , August 14, 2025, according to an NRM Official. This is a change from the initially announced date of Friday, August 15, 2025. However, the voting date for LCIV Representatives remains unchanged, set for Monday, August 18, 2025.
When contacted, a Bushenyi NRM Official confirmed the new date, stating, “Yes, it’s that date as of now, and if any changes, we shall inform you. But I’m now busy handling the Councilors who are picking nomination forms.”
This sudden change means LCIII Councilor aspirants now have only 15 days to convince voters and rally support before the voting day. Our reporter spoke to Mwebaze Mwine Kakweno, an aspiring Councilor for LCIII Ruharo Ward in Central Division, Bushenyi-Ishaka, who expressed readiness to utilize the limited time to garner support. Kakweno said, “We are ready to use the limited time given in order to look for support.”

End.
