BUHWEJU,UGANDA — The NRM District Chairman for Buhweju, Mr. Godfrey Kabandize, has reminded party members that discipline remains a core responsibility of every member of the Movement, both offline and online.
In a statement issued on 20th September 2026 to all NRM members, leaders and administrators of NRM platforms in Buhweju, Kabandize said the NRM Constitution provides a Code of Conduct which requires members to uphold discipline, honesty, unity, respect and responsible communication.
He noted that these standards apply equally on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media platforms, stressing that being online does not remove one’s responsibility as an NRM member.

Kabandize called on members to respect one another regardless of position or differences, avoid insults, abusive language, personal attacks and character assassination, and to reject tribalism, sectarianism, discrimination and political intolerance.
He further cautioned members against spreading rumours or unverified information, presenting personal opinions as official NRM positions without authorisation, disclosing confidential information, and creating factions or hostility within the Movement.
“A disagreement is not indiscipline. Members have a right to express constructive views. What matters is that we do so with respect, truthfulness and within the established structures,” Kabandize stated.

He urged that all NRM platforms be used to mobilise, educate, share verified information and promote development, rather than to attack fellow members.
Kabandize also reminded members that conduct which violates the NRM Constitution or applicable rules may have consequences through the established disciplinary structures of the Movement.
“Let us disagree without becoming enemies, criticise without insulting, and compete without destroying the unity of our Movement. The strength of NRM Buhweju is not only in our numbers; it is also in our discipline and unity,” he said.
He concluded with a rallying call: “Kisanja no sleep — but our mobilisation must be disciplined.”
The statement was copied to all MPs of Buhweju District, the RDC, DRDC, ARDCs, LCV Chairman, DPC, DISO and all NRM members.
