Bushenyi, Uganda – Bushenyi District Woman Member of Parliament Annet Katusiime Mugisha has lauded the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party’s implementation of a voting system that involves lining up behind candidates.
Speaking briefly after a church service in Rutooma ward, Igara East Constituency, Hon. Mugisha, who was recently nominated for reelection by the NRM, said the system has significantly reduced irregularities and unfair practices in the party’s primaries.
“The lining-up system has practically eliminated the multipractices and unfairness we used to experience,” Hon. Mugisha stated. “It has also had a positive impact on voter bribery, which was a serious problem in past NRM primaries.”

The MP expressed gratitude to the party stakeholders who introduced and championed the new system. She cited the improved fairness and transparency as key benefits of the change.
Hon. Mugisha’s comments come on the heels of her recent nomination for another term as the Woman Member of Parliament.
