Buhweju, Uganda – Police in Buhweju District are investigating the death of a two-year-old boy, Akandwanaho Kellian, allegedly murdered by his mother.
Kwetegyeka Immaculate, 28, of Kazirwa A cell, Muziguru parish, Bitsya sub-county, has been arrested and is undergoing a medical evaluation to assess her mental state.
Witnesses reported seeing Immaculate kicking and stepping on the child, who subsequently died. The incident occurred in Buhweju District on [Date of incident – if known]. The boy’s body was taken to Nsiika Health Centre IV for a post-mortem examination.
Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, Sp. Apollo Tayeebwa, confirmed the arrest and urged the public to report suspected cases of mental illness. “Mentally unsound individuals can pose a serious threat to life and property,” he stated.
