MITOOMA- Mitooma district Woman Member Of Parliament Hon Agasha Juliet Bashiisha has officially launched Kashaasha- Burambika Boda Boda Association in Kiyanga, Mitooma district.
Speaking during the launching function, Hon Juliet Bashisha condemned the habbit of misbehaving amongst boda boda riders arguing that they always let down their work and end up loosing respect yet they can do more than they beleive.
Hon Agasha Juliet who recently bought motorcycles for different Boda Boda Associations/stages in Mitooma district also supported the newly launched Association with atleast shs 700,000= as the initial package and vowed to lobby much for them due to the fact that they are united and have good ideas that can develop their community.
However, Hon Juliet Bashiisha says all the goals can be achieved if the Association members especially riders are disciplined and respectful to other community members at all levels.
Kashaasha- Burambika Boda Boda Group is a registered Association found in Kisizi, Kiyanga Sub County Ruhinda North that started in 2020 with atleast 50 legal members including both men and women.
According to Amos Turyasingura, the Association Chairperson they need to buy atleast more five motorcycles amounting to shs 28M and also start up other projects that can act as their sources of income thus asking for support from the surrounding community. By now, he says they atleast have shs 10.6M ready on their different accounts to start up some income generating projects.
Our reporter got information that Hon Agasha Juliet Bashiisha has also promised to help the Association members to join government development Initiatives such as Emyooga so that they can secure some supportive funds from Microfinance Uganda.
