BUSHENYI – In a single flight; one bee can pollinate up to 100 flowers. When the bee flies to next flower and collects more sweet nectar; it transfers pollen stuck to its fur into stigma- the female plant organ of the new flower. Thus, completing pollination cycle.
Mr.Kano Kekuriso of Forest fruits Food says bees as insects are under extinction as people have resorted to use of herbicides and others have ethos that bees are dangerous. He gives an example of getting 3kgs from one coffee tree per year where as a farmer in Brazil gets 17 kgs on one coffee tree per year.
Kano Kekeruso says that Ugandan farmers spend alot on mulching, fertilizer application but rarely think about pollination ingredient that plays domineering role in production of seeds. He appeals to farmers to embrace apiculture that plays a pivotal in pollination cycle of their garden.

Research tells that in every three bites a human being takes; one bite is a culmination of bee being a champion in pollination cycle.
Kano Kekuriso is a management Director of Forest Fruit Foods that delves into Agro based processing of Banana Juice and honey making situated in Ward 2, Central Division Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality.
