KABALE – The territorial police in Kabale have registered a fatal road accident where one person died and another one was seriously injured.
The accident involved an unknown motorcycle ridden by one Spencer Nuwebyona 32 years ( injured ) old a resident of Kasinde village Kekuubo Kabale district and a pedestrian one Kyomuhendo Kellen 52 years old a peasant of Nyamitooma village Kaharo Sub County in Kabale district ( deceased). It occurred on the 15/08/2024 at about 3pm in Kabale township near Voice of Kigezi fm station.
Information from Kabale regional referral hospital reached the station that an accident occurred and a good Samaritan conveyed both victims to hospital and the pedestrian victim died on arrival to hospital and that relatives of the deceased wanted to take the dead body without the postmortem being done.
The police went to Kabale regional referral hospital and first sensitized the relatives of the deceased about the importance of the postmortem, captured particulars of the deceased as those above and of the rider who is unconscious from the records of the hospital. The scene was visited this morning (16/08/2024) and motorcycle involved still at large, postmortem has already been done and the body handed over to relatives for burial.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Asp Elly Maate confirmed this incident to us stressing that inquiries at hand to establish the likely cause.
