Hon Micheal Mawanda
IGARA EAST, UGANDA — Hon. Michael Mawanda, Member of Parliament for Igara East and Director of Mobilization, Patriotic League of Uganda, yesterday donated 50 bags of cement to Rubingo Secondary School. He also donated 40 bags of Cement to Ruhumuro Secondary School.
The donation was made during a fundraising drive at Rubingo Church of Uganda organized by the school to raise funds for a new main hall.
Hon. Fred Kibara, Mayor of Rwentuha Town Council, represented Hon. Mawanda as chief guest and thanked the MP for his continued support to the school.
Madam Nuwasima Doreen, Headmistress of Rubingo Secondary School, thanked God and Hon. Mawanda for the contribution towards the construction project.
Tofas Tinka, a Board of Governors member, said the school, which is 4 years old, has presented candidates for two UCE examinations with good performance. She noted that a main hall is now a timely addition.
Tinka also announced that Hon. Mawanda has promised to support efforts to elevate Rubingo Secondary School to a government seed school.
