RUBIRIZI — Bunyaruguru County MP, Hon. Cadet Benjamin, has urged parents to enroll their children in service clubs where they can interact with responsible people and grow with values of love, discipline, exposure and inspiration.
He made the remarks yesterday at Residence Gardens, the home of Lions Club of Rubirizi, during the installation ceremony of the new leadership of Lions Club of Rubirizi.
Hon. Cadet praised Lions Club of Rubirizi for its unity, selfless service and passion in supporting government programs. He emphasized the importance of service clubs in building disciplined youth, clean communities and self-reliant families in Rubirizi District.
He said organizations like Lions Club, Rotary, Red Cross and NGOs support government in teaching citizens good values, hard work and better living standards. He noted they also help people get out of poverty and fight domestic violence.
“Support such groups because Lions Club works with government to ensure people have good health, support education, environment and road safety for those who cannot afford them,” he said.
Hon. Cadet also asked Rubirizi Town Council leadership to work with Lions Club of Rubirizi to improve garbage collection, sanitation and drainage systems in Ndekye and Nyakasharu towns. He noted this will help residents live in a clean and healthy environment.
He further urged residents to work hard, collaborate with Lions Club, and participate in government projects to improve their households and livelihoods.
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Denis Abigaba, the Deputy President of Lions Club of Rubirizi, thanked the outgoing leadership for their commitment, time, love and effort, especially in recruiting new members.
He urged residents to always give back to the community, especially to vulnerable families, in order to receive more blessings from God. He called on the new leadership to work together for the betterment of the community.
