Taremwa Hillary, a 25-year-old mechanic from Kabare cell, Butare ward, Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga District, was killed in a hit-and-run accident on November 28, 2025, at around 5:30 am. The incident occurred on the Kabale-Ntungamo highway, and the vehicle responsible for the accident remains unidentified.
According to police reports, the deceased was walking in the middle of the road when he was knocked down by the unknown vehicle, resulting in his death on the spot. The police team, led by DTO Rukiga ASP Rubango J Bosco, visited the scene and took the body to Mparo Health Center IV for postmortem.
The police are making efforts to identify the vehicle involved in the accident, and investigations are ongoing.
