BUHWEJU, UGANDA – Journalist Grace Agaba Byarugaba has unexpectedly announced her candidacy for the Buhweju County Constituency seat, shaking up the local political scene and reportedly causing family tensions.
According to sources close to Grace, her objective is less about winning the seat and more about bringing transparency to Buhweju by exposing the kingmakers and shadowy figures controlling local politics through manipulation and family dynamics.
Despite the subdued nature of the campaigns, Grace’s intentions, if realized, could become a turning point for the district, releasing Buhweju from the grip of self-serving influencers and fostering real development.

However, her candidacy has provoked a strong reaction from supporters and promoters of the PLU (People’s Liberation Union) in Buhweju district. In an official statement, they addressed Grace’s alleged use of the PLU name and logo:

We remind all PLU members of their obligation to uphold party unity and support our officially endorsed candidates.
