BUHWEJU, UGANDA – Buhweju District Woman Member of Parliament candidate Nnamara Annet Oyes Byamukama has vowed to regularly hold meetings to understand and address the needs of the people of Buhweju.
Nnamara, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flagbearer for the upcoming 2026 elections, stated that frequent engagement with residents is vital to effective service delivery in the community.
She made these remarks during a campaign tour in Engaju Sub-county, where she met voters at several locations, including Rutunga, Rwamwaja, Kyisindara, Kiruruma, Omurutooma, Omukajiji, Marinde, and Engaju Trading Centre.

“I will continue to hold meetings with you, from village to district level, because I represent you. I need to understand your preferences and challenges, so we can work together to find solutions and improve our community’s standard of living,” she said.
Nnamara, who chairs the Buhweju Community Transformation Initiatives (BCTI) Gender Affairs, also pledged to dedicate part of her parliamentary allowances—such as travel and other stipends—to programs benefiting the community. These programs will focus on BCTI’s three pillars: education, wealth creation, and networking.
Through BCTI, Nnamara has already supported education by providing bursaries to university, secondary, and primary students; distributed 5,000 kg of maize seeds to boost food security; and supplied coffee and tea seedlings to help increase household incomes, among other initiatives.
Since the official opening of campaigns on November 10, 2025, she has already campaigned in six sub-counties: Nyakishana, Karungu, Buhunga, Rubengye, Bihanga, and Engaju.
On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Nnamara is scheduled to campaign in Nsiika Town Council in Buhweju County, where she will address voters at Kicuzi, Nyarubingo, Omukayaga, Kyamujuni, Nsiika, and Rwiina Kakiika cell.
