BUSHENYI – A 16 year Old man has died after being involved in a bar brawl in Rugunga village, Rwentuha ward, Rwentuha Town Council in Bushenyi district.
The deceased is Twinomujuni Johnson who kicked the bucket on 26th May 2024 after being assaulted by his colleague Nuwsgira Brighton.
The deceased was drinking with his colleague (Nuwagira Brighton) at KAGS bar and Lodges but the two developed misunderstandings that ended up into Nuwagira assaulting the deceased until when he was overheard saying that “it seems Johnson is dead.
He afterwards left the scene alleging that he was going to report the incident to Rwentuha Police Station but did not but later informed the deceased’s father about his son’s suspected death and later the matter was reported to Rwentuha Police station for action.
A report of murder was registered vide Rwentuha sd ref 02/26/05/2024 and investigated under Bushenyi CRB: 464/2024. Crime scene was visited by soco and a team of both uniformed and non uniformed police officers who conveyed the body to KIU Teaching Hospital Ishaka for postmortem.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that Nuwagira Brighton and five bar maids working at KAGS bar and Lodges have been apprehended to assist in investigations as police inquiries continue.
