Bushenyi, Uganda – A 10-year-old boy, Mugasha Asha, a pupil at Ishaka Preparatory School in Kaburengye, survived a road traffic accident on the Ishaka-Kasese road on April 17, 2025.
The accident, which occurred at approximately 4:40 pm, involved a white Nissan pick-up truck (UAP 420P) and an unidentified motorcycle.
Preliminary investigations by Ishaka Police indicate the motorcycle rider, traveling from Ishaka towards Kasese, was on the wrong side of the road and collided with the pick-up truck. Police suspect careless riding as the cause of the crash.
The injured boy was rushed to KIU Hospital for treatment. The pick-up truck, driven by Ibrahim Barugahare, was impounded at Kizinda Police Station pending further inspection by the Inspectorate of Road Vehicles (IOV).
Police are currently looking for the motorcyclist involved in the crash.
Police Constable Asiimwe Naboth and his team responded to the scene, documenting the incident with a sketch plan.
Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident and said that investigations are ongoing.
