NTUNGAMO, Uganda – The second annual Ankole Cultural Carnival is set to revive the rich cultural heritage of the Ankole and Kigezi regions.
The event, unveiled Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, at the Ntungamo Tax Park, aims to counter the influence of foreign cultures on younger generations. Grant Promoter, the organizer, emphasized the need to showcase traditional Ankole and Kigezi dance, comedy, and singing, fostering a renewed appreciation for the region’s artistic traditions.
The carnival, scheduled for May 17th, 2025, at Kyamate Playground in Ntungamo municipality, invites dancers and performers of all ages to participate. Promoter urged residents from across Ankole and Kigezi to embrace this opportunity to celebrate their shared heritage.

The event is a collaborative effort between Shemy Events and Grant Promotions and is sponsored by Stabex, Timu Timu Bakery, and TV West, among others.
This year’s carnival promises a vibrant celebration of Ankole and Kigezi culture, aiming to reconnect the digital generation with their roots.
