ISHAKA, BUSHENYI — Mr. Muhumuza Alex, alias Alex Videography Ras, who is contesting for LC1 Chairperson of Katungu Cell, Ward 3 in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality, Bushenyi District, has vowed to fight corruption at village level.
Speaking ahead of the elections, Mr. Muhumuza said he wants to ensure transparency, accountability and fair service delivery for residents of Katungu Cell. He added that as a young person, he understands the challenges facing youth and communities and is ready to bridge the gap between leaders and the people.
He outlined some of the key roles a youthful LC1 Chairperson should play, including:
1. *Fighting corruption and promoting transparency* in handling community contributions and government programs.
2. *Mobilizing youth* for skilling, employment and government programs like the Parish Development Model and Emyooga.
3. *Ensuring security and resolving conflicts* at village level through dialogue and mediation.
4. *Sensitizing residents* on government policies, health, education and sanitation programs.
5. *Acting as a link* between the community and higher local government for service delivery.
Mr. Muhumuza called on voters to elect leaders who will serve with integrity and prioritize community development.
The Local Council I elections are scheduled for Monday, 28th July 2026 at all villages/polling stations countrywide.
