Ntungamo,Uganda – Civil servants and political leaders in Ntungamo District have expressed frustration over delayed payment of their August 2026 salaries.
The delay has reportedly caused financial difficulties for some employees, coming at a time when schools are preparing to open for third term on September 14, 2026.
The delays have been blamed on errors in the payroll system.

According to officials, problems emerged after salary adjustments for some employees, including teachers, heads of departments and officers in the U2 salary scale, were not properly captured by the system.
Officials also reported irregularities in Local Service Tax deductions, with some employees experiencing unexpected changes instead of required deductions.
As a result, the Human Resource Office was required to cancel payment invoices and restart payroll processing in line with guidelines.
The development has renewed concerns among district stakeholders over payroll management efficiency and its impact on service delivery.
