BUSHENYI,UGANDA – Police in Greater Bushenyi are investigating an aggravated robbery at Kashenyi SACCO in Ishaka Division, where a security guard was attacked and a firearm stolen.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on June 10, 2026, at the SACCO’s Kashenyi II Cell branch. Authorities say four men armed with pangas and sticks assaulted the guard before making off with a pump-action rifle loaded with three rounds.
The guard, identified as Karamuzi Aron, 28, sustained head and knee injuries and is receiving treatment at KIU Teaching Hospital.
Police said they responded swiftly and have opened investigations to recover the weapon, identify the suspects, and establish the motive. The public has been asked to share any information that could assist the probe.
The case is being handled by Greater Bushenyi Police under standard procedure.
