Kampala,Uganda – The Government has declared Tuesday, 12th May, a public holiday to mark the swearing-in of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as he commences his seventh term in office.
The inauguration will be held at Kololo Independence Grounds, with proceedings beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m.
Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Milly Babirye Babalanda, confirmed the development and noted that the ceremony will draw leaders from 35 countries, alongside distinguished guests from across the globe.

Up to 40,000 attendees are expected at Kololo, making it one of the largest state functions in recent years. The guest list includes heads of state and government, diplomats, religious and cultural leaders, Members of Parliament, civil servants, and ordinary Ugandans from every region.
The National Organising Committee, chaired by Head of Public Service Ms. Lucy Nakyobe, has coordinated diplomatic, logistical, and ceremonial arrangements to ensure a dignified and secure occasion. Security has been heightened across Kampala, with the Uganda Police Force leading a multi-agency operation supported by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, the Special Forces Command, and counter-terrorism units.
Comprehensive traffic guidelines will be issued ahead of the day to ease movement in and around the capital. A nationwide publicity campaign is already underway on radio, television, and digital platforms to keep the public informed.
In the lead-up to the inauguration, nationwide thanksgiving prayers have been scheduled: Friday for Muslims, Saturday for Seventh-day Adventists, and Sunday for Christians.
Babalanda urged Ugandans to turn up in large numbers and to observe discipline and calm throughout the celebrations. “Arrangements have been made to provide refreshments for attendees at Kololo,” she said. “Let us mark this historic occasion in unity and peace.”
End.

I will to attend but I don’t know whom to contact for full facilitations.
