Ntungamo, Uganda – The South Ankole Diocese is hosting a three-day retreat for all active clergy from August 26th to 28th, 2025, at Kyamate Secondary School in Ntungamo Municipality. The retreat brings together clergy from all 13 archdeaconries and 67 parishes.
Under the theme, “Not to Grow Tired in Doing Good, for in Due Season, We Will Reap a Harvest if We Do Not Give Up” (Galatians 6:9-10), the conference was officially opened today by the South Ankole Diocesan Bishop, the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe. He noted that the annual diocesan clergy retreat is a planned period for clergy to convene from their regular duties for spiritual renewal, reflection, and professional development.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe emphasized that church leaders need to be “serviced” like vehicles to be refreshed spiritually and physically, strengthening their pastoral ministry in today’s society. He urged the clergy to be role models in public and use their platforms to preach the gospel of income sustainability at household levels.
