Bushenyi, Uganda – A tense political climate in Bushenyi District led to an incident of alleged malicious damage and assault on July 11th, 2025. Mr. Tugume Boniface, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Igara West, had his Mercedes Benz ML (Reg. no. UBQ 415/C) damaged and was allegedly assaulted alongside his associates.
The incident occurred in Katimba village, Rushinya Parish, Kakanju sub-county, when Mr. Tugume’s convoy was reportedly intercepted by supporters of fellow Igara West aspiring MP, Counsel Kyampene Cohen.
