Nkombe, Rubirizi District – A pedestrian was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Ishaka-Kasese road near Nkombe on April 5, 2025, at approximately 7:40 pm.
The victim, identified as Barugahare Yowasi (approximately 55 years old) of Nkombe II, Rutoto Sub County, Rubirizi District, died at the scene.
Police reports indicate that a red Boxer motorcycle, registration number UFG032Z, traveling from Ishaka towards Kasese, struck Barugahare Yowasi as he crossed the road.
The motorcycle was allegedly operating without headlights. The rider, who remains unidentified, was taken to an unspecified hospital.
The accident is attributed to reckless driving. Police officers PC Waiswa Joseph and C/D Asimwe Wilson visited the scene.
The body was transported to Rugazi Health Centre IV Mortuary, and the motorcycle was impounded pending inspection.
Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed the incident.
