Bushenyi, Uganda – Former Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye, has denied rumors that he met with Hon. Naome Kibaaju to beg for a ministerial position in the current government.
Dr. Tumwesigye, a former MP for Sheema Municipality who lost to incumbent Hon. Dickens Kateshumbwa, made the remarks while speaking to the press at Bushenyi Main Stadium on Wednesday, December 26, 2025, during the presidential visit.
Dr. Tumwesigye emphasized that he has never met with Hon. Kibaaju to ask for favors. “How can I beg someone for a position when they’ve never even held it?” he asked. “I don’t have time to beg; what I have is enough.”

Dr. Tumwesigye, who is rumored to be eyeing the Sheema North Parliamentary seat, urged people to focus on using what they have instead of spreading false information.
He warned social media users who post false and defamatory content to verify the truth before sharing.
