Rbirizi, Uganda – The management of Bunyaruguru Sacco, in conjunction with Rubirizi Town Council leaders, organized a community workday (Bulungi Bwansi) this week. The event focused on cleaning Ndekye Town, Nyakasharu Town, and Rugazi Health Centre IV.
The cleaning activities aimed to give back to the community through corporate social responsibility, raising public awareness about the Sacco’s upcoming Silver Jubilee.
The event also sought to sensitize the community about the importance of good sanitation, hygiene, and quality education as the Sacco prepares to celebrate 25 years of service.
Philly Matsiko, Chairman of the Board of Bunyaruguru Development Sacco, urged the community to participate in community work and adopt a saving culture to combat poverty in their families and communities.
The Sacco’s General Manager, Gumisiriza Manuelina, encouraged the youth and women to embrace saving culture to achieve economic stability and empowerment.
Mr. Steven Mugisha, Vice Chairperson of Ndekye Traders Association, thanked the management of Bunyaruguru Development Sacco for giving back to the community, noting that this initiative would improve sanitation and cleanliness in the area.
