KASHENSHERO – Three men have been detained by Police in Mitooma district over suspected arson.
The suspects are Tayeebwa Spencer 35 years a resident of Muronzi 1 village, Nyabubare Parish, Bwambala Sub County, Mugisha James 14 years a pupil of Omuburama Primary School, Bikurungu and Nuwamanya Ananias 20 years a resident of Bikurungu all in Rukungiri district.
The complainant is Ahimbisibwe Alex 47 years a resident of Kashenshero Central cell, Ward one, Kashennshero Town Council in Mitooma district.
Its alleged that on 13th July 2024 at around midnight the complainant received a phone call from Kamasanyu the manager Smiles View Bar and Lodges informing him that his vehicle reg.no UBG 170V Tipper Elf was burning, he immediately rushed to the scene and found people extinguishing fire, he then joined them and put it off.
While at the scene, he identified one Tayeebwa Spencer and two others vacating the scene and this forced him to report to police, immediately police traced and arrested them from the lodge of one Kabarangira.
Inquiries were instituted vide SD REF 02/13/07/2024, the crime scene was visited and documented by detectives . Throughout this process, a shirt of Mugisha James was recovered with suspected petrol smell and a matchbox of one Tayebwa Spencer was also recovered.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to our reporter stressing that inquries into the matter are still at hand.
