KIGEZI – The territorial police in Kisoro are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Nsenga John 64 year old a resident of Kinanira cell Central ward Mupaka town council
Kisoro district, who was allegedly murdered by his 17 year old biological son Ntwari Jay.
It’s alleged that on Saturday the 01/02/2025, Nsenga John (Now the deceased) had visitors at home. He bought One and a half kilograms of meat which his wife Niringiyimana Brandinah cooked and served and got finished.
However, on Sunday 02/02/2025 at around noon, the wife cooked beans, Irish potatoes and matooke but when she served the husband, he refused to eat, saying that he wanted meat yet it had got finished the previous day, and when the wife explained to him, he failed to understand instead he poured the food he had been served.
Their son Ntwari Jay the suspect came from the well to fetch water and when he reached home found the father quarrelling and after the son putting the jerrycan down, the father also attacked the son with a panga asking where the meat was. The father with the said panga cut his son Ntwari and injured him on the ear. That’s when the son also picked a stick and hit his father on the head and ran away.
The father rushed to Mupaka border police post where he reported his son for assaulting him, he was issued with a police medical form for examination, but when he reached Kinanira H/C 3 he collapsed and he was rushed to Mutolere Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Kigezi Region Police Sopkesperson ASp Elly Maate confirmed the incident revealing that the suspect was arrested and upon the completion of inquiries, will be produced before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
